Just after the evening Ramadan prayers near Finsbury Park Mosque in Seven Sisters Road, a vehicle collided with pedestrians that just finished their prayers to break the Ramadan fast.
According to an Eye witness named Rayan, she was at the mosque before the incident. After prayers, everyone began leaving, but she stayed behind to talk with someone.
“After that I heard some people shouting, screaming. I went outside to see what was going on,” Rayan said.
Rayan said she was told to go inside because it was not safe, but she didn’t listen.
“I kept walking and then at the crime scene I saw some people laying down, badly injured. One of them I believed was dead, and then police moved us,” she said.
Rayan said she believed she saw four injured people and one she presumed was dead.
“At first I thought it was just a fight or someone was stabbed, but then it was a terrorist attack,” she said. “He targeted people and killed people. He tried to kill a lot of people so it was obviously a terrorist attack. He targeted Muslims.”
Police have not released any details about the suspect or any motives.
Reports have it that the driver of the van is in custody now.
